T-SHIRT - & OTHER STORIES

Another outfit post from NYC. This was on my 30th birthday, I wanted to wear something awesome and memorable as of course there would be lots of photos taken. I love a suit and picked this one up from H&M in the sale before my trip.  Its a checked double breasted blazer with frill details on the sleeves and frills on the bottom of the trousers. Again I had to layer up due to the weather so wore a polo neck jumper under my tee and  a camel overcoat.
We had such an amazing day we went up to the top of The Rockefeller Centre, ate the most amazing pastrami sandwiches at Katz Diner and took the ferry past the Statue of Liberty. All of which I would highly recommend.
Postcards from New York pictures will be up on the blog over the next few days and I also visited Milan last weekend! I have lots of outfit posts to share from the trip when i get around to it but you can check my Instagram for more regular updates.

Enjoy your weekend

Another outfit post from a super freezing day in New York City. I have a million layers on here and literally all my outfit posts from NY I'm wearing hats.
I ordered this t-shirt before my trip from a printing company called 'Custer Design' which is a printing company based in Newcastle. I was really pleased as it was only about £8 but really good quality for the price.  The coat I picked up from H&M another bargain at £20 in the sale. I checked the weather forecast before our trip so knew I needed to stock up on warm clothes and items which could be layered. My boots were only £30 from Zara which seemed like a steal for real leather. I literally wore these boots the whole trip as they were the only shoes I'd packed which meant I could wear socks and that would keep my feet dry in the snow.
So this day of sightseeing we visited The Metropolitan Museum, The Guggenheim Museum and Chelsea Market along with a million coffee stops and food pit stops along the way.
The Met, wow what a museum it is huge! We spent a few hours there but you could literally spent the full day there if not longer! The admission fee is $27 each but it is a suggested donation which means you can pay whatever you think is fair. It has everything from the Ancient Egyptians to modern art pieces by artists such as Jackson Pollock.
The Guggenheim again another amazing museum with the building itself being a must see if you visit NYC.
These outfit pics we took in the Chelsea area before visting Chelsea Market.
Chelsea Market is definitely a must, we loved it! Its an indoor food market with loads of cool places to eat and shops to browse too. There's a really good boutique bookstore  (Posman Books) and also a artist/flea market with local crafts.
We ate at a place called Creamline which prides itself on American classics simply made well. Wow, we ate some really good food here! Grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup and then deep friend Oreos. The deep fried Oreos were literally insane! I would go back to NYC if only for these they were that good. We also ate from a place called Filago which is a Sicilian pizza slice bar. We sat at the counter and ate some amazing pizza and people watched. Honestly in Chelsea market I am pretty confident you could eat from any of the places and get great food.
I will post some pics from Chelsea market and the museums soon, stay tuned.

New York, New York, what can I say?
It was my first time in NYC and my first time visiting the states period.
The verdict....I absolutely loved it!
Yes people, if you haven't been you seriously need to book up asap. We spent 10 days there so managed to see a lot of the city and we even got to see it in the snow.
It was pretty freezing every day of our trip so I had to layer up to the max, if I look hench in these shots this is why!
Also had to whip my coat off and change my shoes to get these shots, now that's dedication to the cause.
I will share further details from the trip in another post along with my favourite finds.

So here goes my first blog post in 4 years, my god has blogging changed.
I have watched it evolve into something so crazy the word blogger has even become a dirty word. We now apparently go by the term 'influencer'.
So why did I stop blogging and why after 4 years have i returned?
Honestly i couldn't tell you. I got married I bought my first home, I grew up, I guess my priorities completely changed in life. But now at the end of my twenties I find myself looking back and reflecting and truthfully I kind of miss blogging. Yeah getting your friends and family to take pictures of you everytime your out and about is annoying but when I look back, I love the way it documented how i changed and how I evolved.
So i'm back at it again, I wont promise constant blog posts and instagram updates because that's just not me but every so often i'll update.
I've slightly changed my blog name, just dropped the sashimi, mainly because someone stole my blog name, sorry she thought it up over sushi. But now sticking to just shoes-and
So this first post is a simple sunday outfit, all black and super comfy. Layering my slip dress over my husbands hoodie, Vetements said this is high fashion so I'm down with that.

Enjoy your week
