Paisley Shirt - ASOS
Navy Blazer - Zara
Navy Trousers - H&M
Pointed Heels - Zara
Clutch Bag - Zara
Lapel Pin - Rome, Italy

....An outfit i wore a few days back for lunch with a friend, kind of fitting to post now due to Italys victory over Germany in the Euro 2012!
I fell in love with Jil Sanders vivid paisley prints earlier this year and searched to the ends of the earth for a look-a-like piece. Finally ASOS delivered with this shirt, a vibrant mix of colbalt blue, lime and bubblegum pink with kimono style sleeves. I wore it in Italy with an electric blue pencil skirt but for this occasion i paired it down with a navy trouser suit. With Menswear fashion week taking place in Italy this month, i have been all about suits and trousers and the weather here isnt exactly helping the matter. Today we had a crazy storm which caused chaos, floods, major traffic jams, store closures and extremley long journeys home from work, Luckily i had the day off and didnt mind being stuck in Starbucks for a little longer than usual. My next purchase might have to be a Burberry trenchcoat, i have a feeling this isnt the last we have seen of the rain this summer #washout

Greta Garbo & Adrian Greenberg

...I've dabbled with the pyjama look several times before, insanely comfortable, practical and effortlessly chic - perfect attire for a day off.
The striped trousers i'm wearing are part of a suit (i will post outfit pics of this from Italy soon). The thick stripes remind me of styles worn in eras past and of an image in particular of Greta Garbo which i posted here last year.
Costume designer Adrian Greenberg (pictured above) popularised the pyjama look after he dressed Garbo in mens silk pyjamas for the film 'Single Standard' in 1929 , at the time they became the height of fashion and the look has crept back time and time again.
The pyjama style shirt was a purchase i made from H&M in Italy, i can't tell you how long i've been searching for a shirt of this style. This H&M version is a perfect nude colour and has an olive green trim, i can think of a hundred ways i will be wearing this already.

...Inside Maison Martin Margiela

Maison Martin Margiela Store Milan, Italy

...During my recent trip to Italy, i stopped by the Margiela store in Milan. It is hidden away in a little courtyard and when they dont have their board out on the main drag it could be easily missed. The interior is beautiful, the collections are perfectly merchandised and the staff of course wear their signature white doctors coats. I thought i would share these images to help continue the Margiela & H&M fever which has set in this week, the two announced their collaboration which will hit stores this November 15th.
I pretty much had to be dragged out of this store after some camel glittery boots caught my eye and several other beautful things!

....Its official, i have a slight obsession with jewellery! I must avoid H&M's accessories department before i start to resemble Pat Butcher, or maybe i need to just stay away from H&M full stop.  Their spring summer trend collection has been outstanding and with the news of a Maison Martin Margiela collaboration announced this week and their fall collection looking to be possibly even better than their summer, chances are i will be singing their praises a little while longer.
I wore this for dinner and drinks after work, i have a serious case of the holiday blues so took refuge in Italian restaurant - Zizzi and cradled their risotto and tiramisu for comfort.
I always seem to wear this jumper when i come back from a holiday, i quite literally wear my heart on my sleeve.  A basic colour palette with some neon accents to lift more than just my outfit.

...My time in Italy has come to a close. I had an absolutley wonderful two weeks , such a beautiful country, amazing food and of course quality time with the boyfriend - bliss
Of all the cities we visited, Florence was a favourite. It has everything, an old worldly feel but at the same time a cosmopolitan vibe. A gorgeous river which if you walk along far enough, takes you to a huge park - Parco Delle Cascine.
Streets and streets of shops, with the essentials - ZARA, H&M and the not so essential - Chanel, Miu Miu and Celine.
The breathtakingly beautiful Duomo Cathedral, Roberto Cavalli's fabulous Caffe Giacosa which does a mean cappucino,a Gucci museum and some wonderful cake shops...are you sold yet?!
The weather there was perfect, hot and sunny with some cloudy days to cool us down. I opted for a cream camisole with a pleated purple skirt and my comfy black sandals on day 1, i totally underestimated the weather and burnt my shoulders. Suncream is a must kids!
