Blazer - ZARA
Pocket Square - Custom
Mens Shirt - YSL
Trousers - ZARA
Snakeskin Clutch Bag - ZARA
Sandals - ZARA
....A very special outfit post, to celebrate some very special news! I got a promotion at work! Here i am on my way out to celebrate with my boyfriend. I work in mens fashion so i felt it was only right to wear a menswear inspired outfit. A navy blazer, my dads blue shirt and a pair of burgandy tailored trousers. I wont even tell you how i made my pocket square, its way too embarrassing! Moving on swiftly, i love this Zara blazer! Biggest reason being that it has a breast pocket. It seems to be a key detail that is always skipped on womens blazers. I also love the cobalt blue lining inside the sleeves which gives you extra detail if you roll them up.
We had dinner at one of my favourite italian franchises 'Zizzi' and then drinks at a beautiful little bar with the most amazing interior...a wonderful evening and wonderful news
I'm now off to do some work, i have to delve into coverage of the mens SS12 shows.

....I cant imagine how amazing it must be to be a model full stop but to walk in an Alexander Wang show....my goodness!
Alexander Wang has released a new video from his 'Confessional Series' which tells the story of two models who walked in his SS12 show. One of which hails from the UK, Northampton to be exact. She was discovered in a pub in her hometown by a model scout, the next day she was in New York attending her first 'model casting' for none other than Mr Wang. And i am not for one minute suprised to read further...she also walked in SS12 shows for the likes of Celine, Givenchy, Chloe and Prada - so no big names then?
The video gives a good insight into the process a model goes through from being scouted...to opening a catwalk show for a huge designer. Its a short video but definitley worth the watch...See my previous post below to for the video or head to www.alexanderwang.com

....Not long now until the much anticipated Versace and H&M collection launches!
A mere 4 weeks until the launch date now, which i expect will have fashion junkies camping outside stores in wind rain or shine and cat fighting with one another over the big pieces....and thats just the men!
I should know, i've worked on a few H&M designer collaborations in the past and believe me the behaviour of some shoppers really has to be seen to be believed!! I seen some full blown fights break out over the Roberto Cavalli and H&M collab and the collection was literally wiped clean within an hour or so!
I hadn't planned to make a special trip to my local H&M for the Versace launch next month, but that was before i seen the above mens shots!!
The shirts with metal collar tips.....The leather jacket......Amazing

Roll-neck Jumper - River Island
Pencil Skirt - Topshop
Snakeskin Clutch - Zara
Platform Sandals - Office
…A best friend is like a good pair of shoes. You know the pair that seem to go with everything, are just so damn comfortable and everytime you wear them your so glad you bought them? In my case i am definitley referring to my black Zara strappy sandals i bought for a mere £29,99 (They are featured endlessly on this blog) and more importantly to a dear dear friend named Madeleine. You may be wondering what this has to do with my outfit post, but here i am pictured on my way to meet said friend for an evening of dinner and drinks.
We hadnt seen eachother for a while but time apart is never an issue whenever we meet. Conversation always flows and i am reminded yet again why we became friends in the first place. We both met up wearing chunky roll neck jumpers both fashioning shades of burgandy and both carrying snakeskin clutch bags! Our similar taste in clothing is scary and amusing at times. Maybe it was a slight lack of judgement on both our parts since we were having dinner at an indian restaurant!?
Nevertheless the evening was a fabulous one and this post is a dedicated to her :)
To finish off i have to comment on the jumper i am wearing, i bought it last week from River Island for a reasonable £39.99. I stumbled upon it on my lunchbreak not expecting to find anything so amazing in such a quick trip. I love how it is two toned and the colour pallette makes it such a versitile piece. I have since found it comes in a monochrome cream and black version too...would it be awful if it also ended up in my wardrobe??

Backstage at Alexander McQueen SS12
Images via www.trendland.net(See for more beautiful pics)
.....Being on holiday during fashion week season has meant i have a hell of alot of catching up to do! Coverage of the shows , hundreds of street style and backstage pics, reviews and countless blogs to read has left me daunted but inspired.
So far, a standout show of the season for me was Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen! An absolutley beautiful collection of jaw dropping gowns which seemed to be inspired by the evolution of flora, fauna and the wonders of the sea. The models looked beautiful in headpieces and masks which looked like shedded skin of snakes, sea coral and spiders webs. Who knew looking like a seriously overdressed and confused scuba diver could be so beautiful!Sarah Burton paid homage to the classic silhouettes made famous by the late Lee McQueen but her own touch was clearly present throughout the collection.
Every single gown was a masterpiece of intense detail and craftsmanshift and every single gown was instantly recognisable as a McQueen....making this collection a guranteed success.
Hmm how will i perfect this look next season....sew together a few fishes to make a dress, abit of seaweed in the hair maybe? maybe not....you couldnt possibly imitate a McQueen!
Jumper - Topshop
Skirt - Topshop
Bag - Kurt Geiger
Sandals - Zara
....Ok thats it...summer is now over for me! Apologies for the lack of posting, i have just arrived back from my Egypt trip and i made a last minute decision to void all communication before i left.
Egypt was beautiful as always..lots of sunshine, the best company and a break from working was much needed for me!
As much as i loved my time away, i was kinda relieved to get home and be able to shop again.
On my first day back home i made up for lost time and bought this grey Topshop jumper and silver skirt. This skirt is just what i have been looking for, a stand in for Alexander Wangs statement satin ribbon dress, a beautiful cut and perfect colour. The most amazing thing about this skirt is how it moves when you walk, from the front it looks like short wrap skirt but it has a floor length train at the back which moves fluidly with every step.
Another purchase i am more than chuffed about and again another Wang stand in is my silver metallic Kurt Geiger bag. I used this bag over and over again in Egypt, it doesnt hold much and is more of a purse than a bag but i love it all the same.
The weather is so cold now in Newcastle and apparently snow isnt far away so i am sure i will be cranking up the layering action in the next few weeks, but i have to say i am actually looking forward to it...the layering that is...NOT the snow!!
